Did you manifest your sickness? No.

You didn’t think your way into a diagnosis. You didn’t vibrate wrong and give yourself a disease. Nobody gets cancer because they weren’t grateful enough.

That idea is cruelty with a nice voice

Some corners of the manifestation world will tell you that everything in your life, including your illness, is something you attracted. Anybody saying that is handing a sick person the bill for their own body. That’s not wisdom.

I don’t know why things happen to people. I’m not going to pretend I have the blueprint of the universe. Nobody does, and the ones who say they do are usually charging for it.

What the book actually says

In Chapter 12 of You Are Not You I address this directly. If you’re reading this in chronic pain, in a wheelchair, or in a body that doesn’t work the way you want it to: you did not manifest that. The pain is real. The diagnosis is real. The limits are real.

Here’s the part that’s yours

Your life is a printout. Whatever’s running underneath is what gets printed into the world. You didn’t write what happened to you. But what you assume from here is yours.

You can sit in that body and assume I’m broken. I’m finished. That prints one life. Or you can sit in the same exact body and assume I’m still here. This body has limits, and I’m not my limits. Same body. Different screen. Different life.

That’s not positive thinking. It’s not pretending it doesn’t hurt. It’s refusing to let the thing that happened to you write the sentence underneath it.
