Your Upbringing Is Not Your Fault, But It Is Your Problem

Your upbringing is not your fault. You did not choose to be born broke, or into that neighborhood, or into that house. Nobody picks the program they get. It got installed before you could vote on it, by people running whatever got installed in them.

So this is not blame. It is a diagnosis. And the difference between those two words is most of what separates people who get out from people who stay.

WATCH

Blame looks backward. A diagnosis tells you what to do Monday

Blame is a closed loop. It is accurate and it goes nowhere. You can be completely right about who did what to you and still be sitting in the exact same chair in ten years, still right.

A diagnosis is different. A diagnosis says here is what is running, here is where it came from, here is which part is still editable. Nobody asks a doctor whose fault the diagnosis is before they start treatment.

And the world is real. I am not pretending otherwise

People lie. People take. Doors get closed for reasons that have nothing to do with your assumptions. You can still need a lawyer, a doctor, a way out of a place.

I am not one of these people who will tell you a bad landlord is a vibration problem. That is insulting and it is also just wrong. The world can hit you, and it does.

The one thing nobody out there can touch

What you assume about who you are and what is possible next.

That is it. That is the whole territory you own outright. Everything else can be taken, delayed, or ruined by somebody else. That one cannot, and it happens to be the one that decides what you do with everything that gets thrown at you.

Two people can get handed the same week. Same loss, same bill, same door closed. One of them reads it as proof and the other reads it as weather. Same facts, completely different life, and the split happens in the assumption, not in the week.

Same cell, different prisoner

You can hold this from a prison cell or from a throne. I am not being poetic, I mean the mechanism is identical. What you assume sets what you notice, what you notice sets what you try, what you try sets what comes back.

You may not have written the first chapter. You are holding the pen for the rest of it. That is not a consolation prize. It is the only part that was ever going to be yours anyway.

Common questions

Is this just telling me to get over it? No. Get over it means stop feeling it. I am saying feel it accurately and then look at what is still in your hands. Those are different instructions.

What if the damage is still active? Then handle the active part first. Safety, money, distance, help. Mindset work on top of an ongoing emergency is bad advice and I will not give it.

Where do I start if everything got installed early? With one voice. Find out whose it is. That piece is here, and it is the smallest useful first move I know.

The point

This is the thesis of the book in one sentence. You are not you, you are what got installed, and anything installed can come back out. Not your fault. Still your problem, which means still yours to change.

Read how your subconscious mind works for the mechanism, then nobody can put a spell on you if generational curse language has ever been used on you.

The book is You Are Not You. It is not out yet, but the first three chapters and the one-page protocol are free. Get them here.
